Topic: Faith Partners

Scripture: Mark 2:1-5

The healing of the paralysed man in Mark 2 is unique because the faith that provoked the healing was not from the man but from his friends. They had already done enough by carrying him to the house where Jesus was because of his inability to move on his own. But when they got to the house, the place was already full. Rather than give up and send him home, they took the unusual risk of uncovering the roof and letting down the bed in front of Jesus. They believed that if they could get him in front of Jesus, he would be healed. Jesus saw their faith and healed their friend.

We see the partnership of faith between Daniel and his three friends in Babylon, which led them to a life of purity, excellence, miracles, and supernatural deliverance. David’s partnership with Jonathan made him escape the traps of Saul. The partnership of the disciples of Jesus led to the growth of the early church. Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, had the kind of friends who messed up his reign as king by the kind of counsel they gave him.

Who do you have in your corner? Just as iron sharpens iron, the right people in your life make you sharper, and the wrong people will make you blunt. God is bringing faith partners your way; people who will stand with you in agreement to overcome, who will push you to go further in your walk with God, and in moments of weakness, they will be channels of strength. May you receive the discernment to recognize the people God has planted in your life for this season and the wisdom to be a channel of strength to those around you.

Meditation: Are you surrounded by people who boost your faith or people who fuel your fear? What adjustments do you need to make to allow faith partners to have greater influence in your life?
