Topic: Don’t Lose Hope
Scripture Reading: Romans 4:17-23
Hope is a desirable expectation of what is yet to happen. For the Believer, it is a picture of the future revealed by the Spirit and captured by your mind. It is hope that gives direction to your faith. As long as hope is intact, faith will be active.
God is not just the author of faith. He is the God of hope. He wants you to always have an expectation beyond your current situation. Without hope, you cannot exercise faith, and without faith, you cannot please God. That is why God gave us promises in His word, so that our minds can find hope in Him. Every time God calls a man for His purpose, He gives him a word that generates hope.
It was said of Abraham that he hoped against hope. It meant his situation at the time was opposite what he hoped for. He hoped to be the father of many nations, yet he was old, and his wife was barren. He still held on, and that gave him approval before God. If things are looking bleak, let your hope remain unshaken, no matter how long it takes. The One who has promised, who has given you that hope, is faithful; He will accomplish it.
Prayer: Father, I trust You. I place my hope in You because You never fail.
