Topic: Don’t Ignore Your Seed
Scripture: 2 Kings 4:1-7
God designed man in such a way that we can exercise dominion on earth against any challenge by using what He has given us. All the breakthroughs in science and medicine, the technological advancements, and amazing works of art all prove that the potential of man is greater than the challenges found in his environment. After all, God blessed man to subdue the earth.
But often, on an individual level, we can come across certain challenges that seem overwhelming. This widow, whose husband was a prophet, came to Elisha because she was facing a financial crisis which was going to send her two sons into servitude. Elisha asked her, “What do you have in the house?” This is similar to the angel telling Gideon, “Go in this strength of yours.” The answer you need is already with you. It takes a revelation from God to help you identify it. The woman did not see value in what she had; a jar of oil. But she received a strategy to use that seemingly insignificant jar of oil to silence the adversary and walk in victory.
What do you have in your house? What is that strength God has placed within you? When you put that seed to work, you will realize you have been equipped for dominion. Your answer is not dependent on the mercy of a man, but the gift of God you have received. As the Holy Spirit gives you a revelation of how to put your seed to work, you will realize that God in you is more than enough for victory.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to see what you have given me for victory in this season of my life.
