Topic: Be Continually Filled!
Scripture Reading: Acts 4:18-31
There is a sweet, invigorating feeling that comes as we worship in the presence of the Lord, praying fervently and hearing the Word of faith being preached. We are so filled with the Spirit that we believe everything is possible and we are ready to conquer the world. But then, we leave the service and the issues of life slowly drain the vigour and enthusiasm with which we left the service.
Not too long after the powerful experience the Apostles had on the day of Pentecost, where they were filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter and John were faced with threats and intimidation by the religious leaders and authorities, forbidding them from preaching in the name of Jesus. All the enthusiasm from the day of Pentecost seemed to fade. But Peter and John went back to their camp, and as they prayed again, they were filled again. They received boldness to preach again.
Don’t let the issues of life leave you empty, without joy, hope, or power. If you can get back to your secret place of prayer, the Holy Spirit will fill you again. Just like a vehicle cannot make progress with an empty tank, you cannot allow your inner man to be empty of power. Be filled with the Spirit continually, always, at all times. That is how to effect change as a Son of God.
Meditation: Are you constantly filled, or have you been running on an empty tank?
