Topic: Be Alert!
Scripture: Matthew 13:24-30
Jesus gave a parable of a man who sowed good seed in his field. But when men slept, the enemy came to sow weeds in the same field. As they both grew, the field had wheat and weeds sprouting. Something negative had been introduced to taint the harvest. This parable reflects the enemy’s attempts to alter the will of God in the lives of His people.
Jesus would later explain that the wheat are the people of the Kingdom, while the weeds are the people of the devil. The wheat also represents the divine investments God makes in our lives through His Word, while the weeds are the opposing voices of the devil. Whenever we are not vigilant, the enemy introduces weeds into our fields. A wrong association, idea, or influence can cause havoc to the harvest of your field, and that field can be career, family, ministry, or even your health.

As we come to the end of the year, it is God’s will that we experience a bountiful harvest of His goodness. But we must be alert to the enemy’s attempt to disrupt what God has for us. He only succeeds when we sleep; when we are not alert. Stand your ground, be vigilant in prayer, and resist every influence of the enemy over your life, your home, and those connected to you. You will end the year in praise.
Prayer: Father, I submit to You, I resist the devil, and in the name of Jesus, he must flee.
