Topic: An Ever-Present Help

Scripture: Mark 15:15-22

As Jesus made his way to Golgotha, carrying the cross, it was evident that he was weak and tired. He had been flogged and had a crown of thorns placed on his head. With all the bruises and pain, carrying a cross up the hill was too much for his physical body. And right there, as he struggled with the weight of his cross, stumbling with each step, there was help available.

Simon of Cyrene was positioned at the right place and at the right time to help the Saviour carry his cross up the hill. This was the assignment of Jesus. This was why he came to earth; to die on the cross. But at a point in the journey, where he needed help, it was available. Simon’s help did not erase the pain of the sacrifice, but it was enough to help Jesus arrive at Golgotha with his cross.

In fulfilling your assignment, there is a cross you carry. There may be certain tasks and responsibilities that you feel too weak to handle on your own. Know that God has not left you to handle things in your own strength. At every point of the journey, the right help will be available. It could be inner strength in your spirit or strength through someone God brings your way. You are never alone. God is your ever-present help and He will not let you down.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for help in this season of my life. For every responsibility, I receive grace and help to see it through to the end.
