Topic: Is This The Will Of God?
Scripture Reading: Romans 12:1-2
Usually, as Believers, we want to know if an action or decision we intend to take is in God’s will for us. But there’s a problem with that approach because people can take the right steps and look like they are in God’s will, but they are not. There was a king of Judah called Amaziah. It was said of him that he “did what was right in the sight of God, but not with a perfect heart.” (2 Chronicles 25:2)
Amaziah is an example of how people can take the right steps and still be out of God’s will. But Apostle Paul helps us to understand how to truly walk in God’s will. It begins with the posture of your inner man. We must first be transformed by renewing our minds. When we have our minds renewed by the Word with the help of the Holy Spirit, our thinking will be in line with God’s Word to determine His will.
The will of God is not a series of actions, it is a way of thinking. It begins in your heart and reasoning, in your motives and inner desires. If you want to find out if an action or decision is God’s will for you, let the Word of God have access to your inner motives and align them to God. Before you determine if a step is right, find out if your heart is right.
Prayer: Father, let Your Word and Your Spirit within me transform me to walk in Your Will continually.
