Topic: Run Your Race With Grace
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:1-3
In athletics, the current 100m world record for men is 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt of Jamaica. The current marathon world record for men is 2 hours, 35 seconds, set by Kelvin Kiptum of Kenya. These two men are world champions in their respective races; one a champion in less than 10seconds, the other a champion in a 2 hour race.
Obviously, Kelvin wouldn’t be intimidated by Usain’s time because he understands that they are in different races. Why then should we be under pressure by the timing of other people when we are running in different races? Many potential champions in the race of life are missing out on their medals because they are focusing on people in different phases of their respective races.
This is what we have been called to do: to run the race set before us with patience, a patience fueled by the grace of God. Fix your eyes on your track, ignore the distractions, and run with the pace of grace to obtain your reward.
Meditation: Are you running your race with grace, or are you being pressured by the achievements of other runners?
