Topic: I Am Who God Says I Am
Scripture Reading: John 8:12-20
Are you confident enough to declare your identity? Jesus knew who he was and he wasn’t afraid to declare it. It made the Pharisees uncomfortable to hear him speak so confidently, so they accused him of being proud. And it is the same today; there are people who would rather have you timid and ordinary rather than being confident in your Divine identity. When you step into the truth of who you are, people will be uncomfortable.
Pride is confidence in self, but our Divine identity is by confidence in God’s word, which is faith. Jesus could declare that he is the light of the world, because that is what the Father said about him. And we can also declare the same because that is what the Father has said about us.
When we are silent, we give the enemy the license to interfere and intimidate us with his schemes. But as we boldly declare who we are in Christ, we put the enemy to flight. It is time to unapologetically be who God has made you to be.
Prayer: Father, I receive boldness to fully embrace my identity in Christ Jesus.
